April 2018 Goals

April 2018 Goals

I feel like winter relapsed in March, so I’m very much looking forward to the warmth and green of April and spring. Warm weather and sunshine just does the heart good, doesn’t it? April is one of my favorite months of the year for exactly that reason. And also it’s my birthday month, and Stephen and I like doing birthdays up right. If the weather is good enough we’ll even go to the beach for a day!! And we’ll probably take our crazy dog. I’m really looking forward to it!

I had a bunch of weddings in February and March, and I’ve got a bunch more in May and June, but this year I have a break in April! I’m actually really looking forward to it. It’ll give me the opportunity to really focus on my spring mini sessions and finish up my KJ education courses. It’s also nice because my other photography job is SUPER busy this month. It’s always nice when the busy seasons don’t line up!

Goals for this Month:

  • Deliver two March weddings – This isn’t so much a goal for this month as it is for this week! It’s time to get these signed, sealed, and delivered so I can focus on some of these other things!
  • Shoot 8 UNC mini sessions – I’ve only got a couple booked so far, but I remember what it’s like to be a college student…6 weeks (the time until graduation) felt like approximately a year. I’ll keep hitting the advertising, and I’m sure they’ll fill up!
  • Go through Consistency Jumpstart course – I’ve been loving KJ’s other educational videos, and I can’t WAIT to go through this one. It’s all about workflow, and you know how I love lists, timesavers, and organization.
  • Read Anne of Green Gables and Spurgeon’s Sorrows – I’m excited! I’ve already read 5 books so far this year, which is about 4 more than the last two years put together! I really want making time to read to stick as a habit, and so far I’m loving it!

Accomplished this Month:

  • Read Tribes and Magnolia Story – These were both great books! Tribes was all about marketing and challenged me to think in ways I hadn’t before. And Magnolia Story was really fun because who doesn’t love Fixer Upper? It was great to hear Chip and Joanna’s story, and I might even get to go to Magnolia Market when I’m in Dallas in June!
  • Watch KJ All Access videos – A new video is released every month, and I’ve done a good job of keeping up with it so far! It feels less overwhelming since there aren’t a bunch available all at once.
  • Finish Marketing Jumpstart Course – This course was great and got me thinking about marketing in a new way. I’m excited to start working on it all!
  • Meet with an Animal Behaviorist – I’m glad we tried this, but we’ll just have to see if any of the suggestions help Sadie. Some of them really could, but it will take time, so we’ll just have to keep working and wait.
