This family is very special to me for a few reasons, but one of them is that it includes my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Erin! Not only did I get to shoot their wedding back in 2015, I also got to shoot Erin’s sister’s wedding in 2018. It’s awesome to get to work with the same families over and over again and watch them grow. First the Smith’s added a son-in-law, Michael (Stephen’s brother). Then they added another son-in-law, Noah. And now they have a precious baby boy who was obviously the star of this show. I feel like it’s hard for the first grandchild in any family to not love being the center of attention, and Lance, with his mouth-wide-open smile, is no exception.

These folks all live a ways north of the Triangle, so Wake Forest was a great location to meet in the middle. It wasn’t the most convenient morning to be at Joyner Park, since it was the grand opening of the community center there, but when I’m only in town for a week, I don’t have a lot of options. It also ended up being a pretty chilly morning for a baby to be outside, but he got wrapped in his fleece blanket after every photo, which he clearly didn’t mind. And he was happy for the whole shoot! That’s a win in my book. So glad we got to shoot together again, friends!
