Wake Forest Wedding Photography

Oh friends, there is so much I want to write about this one. Ashlee and Cody are two of the sweetest, most genuine people you will ever meet, and after spending some time with their families, it’s clear where they get it from. I felt so welcomed into this big day and so privileged to be a part of it. It’s clear that the Lord has brought them together and that they will be so loved and encouraged by their family and friends. What a beautiful day!

I am so thankful that the weather was so wonderful for this mid-January wedding. You probably hear that a lot from me, but weather (and therefore light) can make a huge difference! We were so blessed to have a sunny, 50-degree day that didn’t limit the amount of time we could be outside. But first things first. I don’t know if I’ve ever photographed more emotional father-daughter and mother-son moments as I did in this wedding. It’s a testament to how close Ashlee and Cody are to their families and it was beautiful to witness. When Ashlee’s dad came up to see her after she had finished getting ready, the expression on his face was perfect. You can just tell that he fiercely loves his family.

Then we did the first look. Cody’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time in her beautiful dress was just as amazing. His jaw literally dropped and seconds later he couldn’t stop smiling. I pray that the love they have for each other now, as wonderful as it is, would pale in comparison to their love 5 years from now, and 10 years from now, and 50 years from now.

These two met while in school at Southeastern Seminary, and I know it was so special for them to be able to get married there. They started dating in February of 2014, and their first date they went and got ice cream and played cards until closing. When he proposed, Cody used a deck of cards that he had cut a hole in for the ring. Ashlee wanted to incorporate cards somehow in the portraits, and found a giant deck that worked perfectly! Their wedding was so them, and I loved every part of it. Ashlee and Cody, you are both so loved. Congratulations!!!
