Sam and Daphne, it was truly a joy to be a part of your big day! The weather was lovely, the music was incredible, and the celebration was super sweet and fun. It is clear that you two are so loved by so many!

I LOVE Daphne and Sam’s story. They met at church when they were just 10 years old, and apparently Sam was already thinking about the future ❤️ He moved to another city just a year later, and they began writing letters to stay in touch. 11-year-olds! Five years later, Sam moved closer for school, and they got to see each more frequently. They also began playing music together in high school, Sam on the cello and Daphne on the violin. They went on their first official date the summer after Daphne graduated from high school and have been long-distance since then working on their music degrees at different colleges. Because music has always been a huge part of their relationship, it was only natural for them to compose and perform a special piece for their wedding ceremony. It was so beautiful and moving! A true feast for the ears, and a privilege to witness. You should definitely go listen to them on YouTube if you have a chance!

Daphne and Sam got married at First Baptist Church in Durham where Daphne’s dad is the pastor. He walked her down the aisle, and then officiated the ceremony! It was so special to see the emotion of a dad giving away his youngest daughter. Daphne was not excited about getting ready in the children’s classroom area, so her mom surprised her with beautiful furniture and decorations. What a sweet and thoughtful touch! We did portraits before the ceremony out in front of the church and the rose garden.

After the ceremony we all headed to Woodside Farm in Graham, NC for the reception. This beautiful converted barn provided such a relaxed yet gorgeous backdrop for Sam and Daphne’s celebration! The toasts from Daphne’s older sister and Sam’s brother were touching and funny. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the perfect way to end a perfect day. Congratulations, Daphne and Sam! I hope your honeymoon was amazing and just the beginning of your beautiful life together.
